WORK has started on a brand new retail park development at Cross Hands West, which will bring hundreds of new jobs to Carmarthenshire.

The jobs will include 260 retail positions and 100 construction positions.

The 10-acre site will feature a number of shops, including a food store, restaurant, pub and large car park.

The development is being headed by Conygar, who acquired the land which was previously planned to house a Sainsbury’s supermarket.

Emlyn Dole, leader of Carmarthenshire County Council, recently visited the site and said that the development showed ‘great confidence’.

He said: “This investment is the first for Conygar in Carmarthenshire and hopefully the start of many more.”
