Carmarthenshire League: Premier Division round-up

THERE were just two games played in the Carmarthenshire AFL Premier Division on Saturday (Oct 29) and both ended in 2-2 draws.

Games between Felinfoel and Gorseinon, Killay and Pwll Athletic and Pontlliw and Seaside were all postponed while Trostre’s FAW Trophy game against Pembrokeshire side Hakin was also called off.

In the games that did go ahead, third placed Burry Port earned a point away at Loughor Rovers. Jacob Llewellyn put Loughor ahead in the 18th minute and four minutes later it was 2-0 through Ciaran Morgan.

Burry Port hit back though and were awarded a penalty shortly before half time. Jamie Fleming scored from the spot to bring his side back into the game.

The comeback was complete just four minutes into the second half as Josh Element scored to make it 2-2.

Neither side was able to find a winner and both sides settled for a point.

In the other Premier Division game, Pengelli also fought back from two goals down to earn a point against Trallwm.

Trallwm went ahead in the third minute thanks to Shane Price’s goal and Ross Sherlock made it 2-0 in the 19th minute.

On the stroke of half time, James Richards pulled a goal back for Pengelli to give his side some hope of getting something from the game.

With eight minutes to go, Trallwm’s Wesley Smith was sent off. Pengelli made their man-advantage count and scored with five minutes to go through Ben Lindsay.

There were no further goals and again both sides settled for a point when the final whistle went.

The sides take a break from league action this weekend as those still in the West Wales Cup look to continue their cup run.
