MHS Christmas tree went up in November, but it was all for a good cause

STAFF AT Milford Haven School were horrified to witness a Christmas tree going up in November, but it was all for a good cause. This very special tree was put up a few weeks ago and decorated with over 70 tags, each with the anonymous details of a child living within the school catchment area. These are all children that are affected by deprivation and have been referred to PATCH for the annual toy appeal.

All members of the MHS school staff team were invited to take part in ‘Tags on the Tree’. All they had to do was pick a tag off the tree, buy a gift for that child up to the value of £10, wrap the gift attaching the tag they took, and then pop the gifts back under the tree.

Mrs WilcoxHead of Defender said “Defender House is proud to continue supporting the amazing work that PATCH does for our community. Diolch yn fawr to everyone who was able to support this wonderful project.”

Many of our departments decided to forgo the traditional Secret Santa and instead support our Defender House Charity and purchase gifts for the PATCH toy appeal via Tags on the Tree’

Our amazing staff team, and indeed the whole community of Milford Haven, is well knows for its generosity so a huge and heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported this project. Over 70 gifs have been collected by staff here at Milford Haven School, and have been delivered to PATCH.

This project is evidence that together we can make a real difference to local families and the Christmas they experience this year, and we are extremely proud to be supporters of PATCH and the annual PATCH Toy Appeal.

Headteacher Ms Morris said:

“It is very humbling to see the continued support and generosity from the staff here at Milford Haven School. Sadly, many of us are more aware now than ever of the great need within our school community.

“This is just one of many school projects that are in the pipeline to inject as much support as we can into our community over the coming months, with Christmas in particular set to be a challenge for many so every little bit of help will no doubt go a long way.”
