Penlan book West Wales Cup quarter final spot

PENLAN AFC booked their place in to the quarter finals of the West Wales Cup with a comfortable win over AFC Glais on Saturday (Feb 5).

The Swansea side started the game well and found themselves 2 goals to the good after the first 10 minutes of the game.

After many squandered chances, it was Luke Dalling bursting down the left and crossing the ball to fellow winger Nathan Lewis who powered his header passed the Glais keeper to open the scoring.

Two minutes later Sam Lewis doubled the lead after good work from Nathan Lewis put him through on goal. Sam made no mistake and finished comfortably past Filip Lisczyk.

They created some half chances but nothing to unsettle Marcus Collins in the Penlan Goal.

Penlan started the second half as the did the first. Luke Dalling causing more problems for the away defenders, cutting inside and earning a free kick just out side the 18 yard box.

Dale Otten stepped up to take the kick, curled it over the wall and passed the diving ‘keeper for goal number three.

The third goal took the wind out of the Glais sails and they were punished again just six minutes later.

Great wing play from the right hand side and a pin point cross from Nathan Lewis found the late run of the excellent Cory Chalres who headed the ball home.
