Cardigan 15
Pontarddulais 17

IT WAS another narrow defeat for the Teifisiders, as their only reward for a tough game was a losing bonus point, when they could have had much more.

It was the visitors who made the brighter start, scoring two soft tries early on from Josh Gross and Aled Thomas, neither of them being converted.

Being 10 nil down, the Cardis fought back with the home crowd cheering them on, and at half time led 15-10 thanks to tries from Marcus Castle and Rhydian Jenkins, one of which was converted by Iestyn Crompton, who also added a penalty.

After the break, the game tightened up as the weather worsened, and the score remained 15-10 until a lapse in concentration and ill-discpline cost them, as The Bont were awarded a penalty try, which they converted to take a two point lead, and the victory.

Cardigan sit in tenth place and host seventh placed Penlan this Saturday (Feb 7).
