The Batmobile visits Carmarthen

CARMARTHEN SHOPPERS were stunned on Wednesday August 14 when Batman and his Batmobile gave the town a ‘fly-in’ visit.

It has been six years since his last appearance in the town, one can assume The Dark Knight felt his presence has not been needed much as of late, due to the excellent crime figures in the area.

The event was part of ‘Summer Fun Days’, a series of free family events held on St Catherine’s Walk every Wednesday in August from 11am to 3pm.

The incredible ‘tumbler’ vehicle was on display, a car that was used extensively in The Dark Knight Rises, in which Batman is in a race against time to save Gotham City from annihilation at the hands of Bane.

Next weeks’ event is called ‘Go Wild’. The ‘Summer Fun Days’ website had the following to say about it: “Meet our lifelike Giant Panda, ChiChi and baby SingSing for three shows and learn more about them from our zoologist. You can also join in with a free craft workshop!”
