Athletic win with a bonus point again

CARMARTHEN Athletic sealed a third consecutive bonus point win on Saturday (Apr 27) as they beat Burry Port 26-0.

They performed well in the first half and scored two tries with Nick Rees and Lee Bradley both going over.

Bradley Roderick added one conversion to give the visitors a 0-12 lead at the break against a young Burry Port side.

The Athletic added two further tries in the second half as Roderick scored their third try and Dan Davies added the fourth to seal the bonus points.

Roderick added the conversions to both to complete the scoring to seal a sixth win since February.

Their run since February has seen them lose only once, narrowly against high flyers Pontyberem 13-15.

It has also seen them rise from fourth from bottom to fourth place in League 2 West and provides a good platform going into their final two games of the season.

On Wednesday, May 1, they are at home to Loughor and on Saturday (May 4), they will play their final game of the season, away to Mumbles.

Burry Port will also be in action on Saturday in their final game of the season as they host Pontarddulais.
