AMMAN United managed to make it back to back victories in Division 3 West B with an excellent win on the road at Cae Carwyn James on Saturday (Apr 9).
On a bright day ideal for running rugby, both sides to their credit went at it in the right way from the start, making for an entertaining game that could have gone either way in the end.
In an open game, Amman just always edged the lead, and led 14-8 at halftime; the brightest spark behind the scrum was Alex Williams, whose distribution and incisive runs from scrum half had the Reds on the front foot from the outset.
Williams also capped his performance with a brace of cracking tries. Also commanding from the front in his usual barnstorming style was backrow man Alun Lewis who covered every blade of grass and tackled like a demon in his usual fashion.
Amman did suffer a number of injuries durng the game, among them Dylan James, Jac Evans and Joel Foster limping off.
Foster had added a couple of conversions before his exit, the latter of them adding to centre Acuna Bezzara’s sceond half try.
Jason Richards also added a penalty as United sealed only their fourth win of the season.
Amman only have two games remaining, the first of them coming on Thursday, April 14, away at Llandeilo.
